Have you always wanted to speak French with a bit more ‘je ne sais quoi’ than ‘je ne sais pas?’

If you’d like to to go from ‘Parlez-vous anglais? ‘ to ‘Voulez-vous parler français avec moi ce soir?‘ then contact me to go on the waiting list for a fab 15-hour Fun French Holiday Course.

  • Venue: The Kirkgate Community Centre, Shipley (opposite the Town Hall) or online via Zoom
  • Times: TBC
  • Cost: £99.00 (You can come to the first lesson free of charge before committing to the whole course)

What do you learn?

Imagine these scenarios en France:

  • Swaggering into la boulangerie and ordering your petit-déjeuner like you know what you’re doing.
  • Exclaiming that you’d like your café au lait quick sharp because you’re very pressed for time.
  • Telling the taxi driver your life story… and then I was 2 ….
  • Walking down the aisle on the train, tapping the lady on the shoulder and telling her she’s sitting in your seat and that you have la confirmation de la réservation on your mobile phone to prove it!
  • Complaining at l’hôtel that the heating’s too hot, the aircon’s too cold, the TV’s not working, the bed’s not comfortable and the fan’s too noisy! Zut alors!
  • Restauring yourself with a 4-course meal starting with un apéritif, an array of starters, fancy main courses, cheese, dessert and un digestif to wash it all down.

Learn the kind of French you’ll actually need

This Fun French course is jam-packed with practical lingo that will see you right on your next trip to France. I help you to remember le French with silliness and laughter. I break down the harder to digest bits of French into tastier morsels leaving you excited to try out your new fancy French.

What do you get – I hear you ask?

You’ll get 15 fun lessons with access to:

  • Videos of the lessons where I have raided my dress up chest to play the part right. If you have to miss a lesson to get a manicure (French of course) pas de problème – you can catch up on your mobile phone while the other hand dries.
  • Audio MP3 versions of the lessons so you can listen on the go – walking your French poodle or on loud speaker in your new Renault…‘Nicole?’
  • Written summaries so you don’t have to even lift a pen in class. Just put your feet on the desk, relax and soak it all in.
  • Homework with the answers that you can do on the back of le bus on the way to class.

Who am I?

I’m Cécile Besrest-Butler (Miss Butler to some) and I’m a qualified teacher of French. I’m bilingual having a French mother and English father.

I have oodles of experience teaching French to keen kids, grumpy teenagers, people in le business, grandmas and grandpas as well and babies (my own baby and my nephew).
I ABSOLUTELY love to create fun lessons, teach in a way that you can enjoy learning, watch how well you progress and best of all see how your confidence soars.

Contactez-moi.

Testimonials:

‘I chose to learn French with Cecile ahead of a holiday to Annecy. I’d seen her videos on Instagram and was attracted to her fun and relaxed style. I was a bit nervous as I have no previous knowledge of French, but from the very first lesson I was hooked. It really was fun and exciting to learn and Cecile is a brilliant teacher.’

Claire G

‘Really enjoyed re-learning French with Cecile without the pressure of exams – none since school years ago. Fun classes with just the right amount of challenge each week (I think!) Great videos/YouTube as follow ups and reminders especially if you missed anything. Small groups of similar adults – we all help each other. Can recommend.’

Lyn M

‘Cecile’s lessons were a joy to attend – just the right balance of structure and free-flow fun. Her cheeky charisma is just what is needed when getting people to relax and forget about being ashamed of sounding like a complete buffoon.’

Joe V

‘Cecile’s approach to teaching makes learning fun and interesting. I feel I have made great strides in achieving my goal of feeling capable of visiting France and interacting with people without making a fool of myself. Cecile’s way of making words and phrases stick in the mind works very well.’

Ali A

‘Learning a language as an adult was fairly daunting and I didn’t actually think I would take it in. Cecile makes learning fun, effortless and interesting and you’ll find you’ve actually learnt a lot of a new language without realising and thinking too much. It just sort of sticks! You’ll find yourself suddenly blurting out French words, you hadn’t even realised you knew.’
